I translate names* and Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines, to baybayin and it is this script I burn by hand into Philippine wood beads and pendants.  This process makes all my pieces one-of-a-kind.

What is baybayin?  It is the script of our ancestors thought to be used as early as 900 AD.

Since learning about baybayin I have become passionate about sharing the knowledge of its beauty and significance.

The result is PhilippineScript Designs.

All beads are made of native Philippine wood, none of which are endangered. The majority of my beaded work is done with bayong, a beautiful wood that is a rich, deep honey color.  I also use kamagong, rosewood and nangka.  All raw beads and pendants are imported from Cebu so not only do you express the Philippine heritage with every purchase, you wear a piece of the homeland.

Recently added, sterling silver and copper jewelry!  This has allowed me to expand my line to include rings and earrings.  These pieces are hand-stamped with baybayin so each piece is unique!

I'm excited about being able to create a piece just for you or your someone special!   Show your love for the Philippines while you wear an affordable necklace, bracelet or anklet that expresses who you are and/or shows your, or a loved one's, name* in baybayin.  Together, we'll make something wonderful...and I thank you for letting me be part of our mutual celebration of the Philippine culture.

*Not all names are possible to translate but I will do my best!

Note: The painting reads "Pinay Ako" - I am a Filipina - in baybayin
